Getting it done
Over-thinking vs Getting it done - Already a polarised statement, but it’s a thing.
I’ve been fortunate enough to be surrounded by extremely successful friends & heroes, learning about their paths to where they are now. Pretty much every single one of them did the same thing as each other- just getting shit done.
In this web industry, I see far too many busting brains trying to come up with marketing strategies & throwing around words like ‘Venture Capital’ before considering the quality of a project or product.
You can’t polish a turd. A good idea as a foundation is all you need. Look at threadless, Johnny Cupcakes, tumblr, vimeo, carbonmade & all of those other fine lads. They all had humble beginnings and just stuck with making something they loved and would care to use themselves.
They didn’t read inspirational quotes all day, write fluff, or sit around in seminars - they got off their butts and just made things.
